Apple I-Touch: iBowl

In my pursuit of trying to mess around with any free stuff I can get my hands on via the Apple App Store, I discovered iBowl. That's right a bowling game for the i-phone or i-pod touch. After playing it for a while I can tell you the following, get this game, and I hope they come out with more free stuff.

The graphics are nice, there are some overlapping issues that probably only I would notice, but the game is strong enough not to be throw aside because of lack of pop. The get the feeling of 3D, and for those not really wanting to sport the crazy shoes, or spend money for real, it works.

The sounds are really simplistic. There is a sound for the ball going down the lane and there's a sound for knocking over the pins. This only adds to the realism, of course if you are not wearing headphones, well you're not missing out on much.

The controls are probably my favorite part. You will actually be using your device as if you were bowling. Place your thumb over the bowl button that appears and then go through the motion of bowling. If you twisted the device slightly you're going to see it, if you bowl straight it will go straight, and the velocity in which you go through the motion will also show as the ball will either go down slow or fast.

For the price of free I have to say that this is a fun game to have on your i-phone or touch. There isn't too much to this game but it is enough to definitely occupy your time and give you a good feeling once you've bowl either a 300 or close to it. I give this game a 8.9 out of 10.
