Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Review

Its a puzzle game with a couple of the characters from the Street Fighter along with a couple of extras from other fighting games. The object of the game is to make clusters of the same color and then touch those clusters with a glowing "bomb" of that color which will blow up all those pieces. If you have a big enough cluster you'll cause your opponent some pain with time release blocks. Which are just like the other pieces except can't be used until the counter in them reaches zero. The round ends once someone's side of the screen fills up.

The graphics are cartoony, and the fighters don't look all that manly in their munchkin-like forms. The gameplay area does stand out in a good way, and after a couple of times where you cause mass damage to your opponent and you see your munchkin associated with you do an attack to the other one you'll enjoy the bit of effects in the center.

The controls are very simplistic, and they work beautifully. All you have to worry about really is the left arrow, right arrow, down arrow, and 2 of the buttons. This will move the pieces around the space, and rotate them for you if need be.

The gameplay is fun, its sad that there really isn't a lot to the game, they could have done a bit more and this game would rock everyone's socks off, but as it stands it definitely gets an 8.1 out of 10.
