Echochrome Review

Echochrome is one of the latest releases onto the PSN (Playstation Network) this game is for the PS3 and for the PSP. The game's controls are really simplistic. your going to be moving the world around to allow your walking man to get all the echoes (the ghost like men standing in different parts of the level.
This game is all about perspective. Once you get the hang of it then it will be down to timing and moving the level around quick enough. It really is an interesting concept. If you position a piece of the level in such a way that it looks like it is connecting that which wasn't connected before the character will walk as if it was connected. Move the level around so that it looks like using the jump would land you on the other part of the world, and that's what it does. Move a piece in such a way so as to make a gap between two places disappear the character will walk behind the piece and will walk as if there was no gap.
The graphics are very plan its just the strict black and white, but I have to say that this in no way takes away from the game play, in fact I think it really allows the game play to shine. Since you're not being distracted by all the flash and glitter you're seeing what the game is and nothing else, which means if this game sucked you'd figure it out immediately, but that is not the case with this game. This game shows that it is something that if you like puzzle type games you'll be dying to play until you can't play any more.
I thought this game would be an easy game to review. My first thoughts were that they were dumb for doing what they did, but once I actually played the game I'm having to eat my words. This game, to a programmer at least, is something that is ingenious and I hope more games like this come along. 8.4 out of 10
