Rock Band Review

Rock Band is one of those games that when you see it in the store you think to yourself, damn that is a lot of money to spend on one game. Well that's if you are looking at the huge box that comes packed with a drumset, microphone, and guitar. I'd have to agree with that thought, it is a lot of money, but after getting to play the game and see it recently I have to say that if you have friends interested in playing this game with you its well worth the money.
There are many different flavors of Rock Band so for those who don't have a specific console there's still a chance that you can play it. Rock Band has come out for the PS2, PS3, XBOX360, and the Wii. I'd recommend the 360 or PS3 because of the high capacity for DLC (which makes this game even better, even though sometimes the price tag for it is a bit much for what people should pay, in my opinion). I personally rocked out on the 360 version, but I hear that the PS3 version is exactly on part with it.
The graphics look like any guitar hero with the exception of the slight change in shape for the notes and of course the singing track that runs on top of the screen. There seems to be a more wide spread amount of Rockers you can use for the game so that you can personalize the experience.
The music is where this game is at I can't really remember singing a cover of a song I'm pretty sure that most if not all the songs were the master tracks, and they rocked. Harmonix knows what they are doing when it comes to this type of game and it shows. Here is a track list of the songs that are initially included on the game.
"(Don't Fear) The Reaper" Blue Öyster Cult

There of course is more songs that can be unlocked (Bonus songs), and of course you also have the DLC, but this list to start with is pretty intense, and I don't think that many, if they have the money and the friends to play this game with can pass up this deal.
Now I know that Rock Band has been around for a while, and as a result there is a sequal coming out, but the rumor that is being circulated is that some if not all the songs are going to be able to be imported in to Rock Band 2. One reason that I can see people holding off is once Rock Band 2 comes out the instruments are probably going to be better seeing as they will have had time to iron out all the problems that were there. So here's my recommendation, don't forget about this game it will rock your socks off, but wait till the second one comes out I think in October get the updated instruments and then buy the first one game only.
Rock Band gets a 9.4. out of 10
