Apple I-Touch: Crazy Penguin Catapult Review

Crazy Penguin Catapult has you launching penguins ready for war into different levels to try to take out the vicious Polar Bears. This i-pod touch/i-phone game has a lite version and a full version, so for those who are intrigued but not ready to pay you can get a sampling for this game.
The controls are all touch based. You will have to tap the screen at the correct time to launch your penguin troops, as well as decide when the penguins need to descend upon the unsuspecting polar bears.
The music/sound is cartoony, and to be completely honest grates on one's nerves after about 5 seconds. I don't know what I'd really expect for a game like this but I'd much rather play this game with the sound off.
The graphics aren't too bad for a game on the Apple platform. They look like they came from a good quality flash game.It is refreshing to see that there is animation in this game and that everything doesn't look static.
The object of the game, as stated previously is to launch penguins into battle to try to take out the polar bears. If memory serves me correctly a penguin, once it has made initial contact, can bounce around for about 3 to 4 bounces. If you do well enough on a level you will be able to move around a map, and possibly unlock some special abilities for your penguins.
This game can get a bit frustrating when it comes to precision releases of the penguins, if you don't time it right they won't make it out onto the level, but other than that the game is definitely entertaining. If you want a game that you can play within small time frames, and requires a bit of strategy to go along with it, I think you'll like this game. I give this game an 8.3 out of 10.
