Apple I-Touch: Snorkeling Review

Snorkeling is a game for the Apple I-pod Touch in which you will take control of a bear who's mission is to collect as many "good" fish as possible without hitting the "bad" fish or running out of air, seeing as you're under-water the entire game.

Graphically this game looks like a solid flash game. There's a certain cuteness to the bear's design, and the good and bad fish are easily distinguishable by color (red = bad, blue = good).

The music to this game has like a kiddy techno kind of feel to it. What I do like is the fact that the music does seem to gain some momentum as you go through the game. When you hit a good fish you'll get an audible indicator that you've successfully captured it, and you'll also get one when the game is over after hitting a bad fish.

The controls in the game take a bit of time to get used to. You're going to be swiping, sometimes feverishly, on the screen in the direction that you want the bear to swim. These controls really do have a learning curve that takes a couple of rounds, but after that you're going to find that the controls feel tight.

Snorkeling is the type of game that you can quickly get in a round, well for me at least because I always seem to run into the bad fish after 100 points or so, and is something that is entertaining to pick up and play. Don't look for a long time experience with this game, but I can definitely see myself coming back to it every once in a while. This game gets an 8.2 out of 10.
