Apple I-Touch: Gravity Guy Review

Gravity Guy is brought to you by Miniclip. In this game you will be controlling a character who can at the tap of a screen change his gravitational orientation. You'll have to be quick because you'll also have an enemy hot on your trail trying to catch you. If you're curious about the game, and want to see what to expect check out miniclip's Gravity Guy page where you can play it online.
Graphically this game looks pretty good, especially if you download the additional graphics pack to make things just a bit sharper. You're going to be a character that looks like Megaman and the Flash got smashed together. You're enemy is going to look like an imperial stormtrooper and a duck were mixed together. The level is ever continuing, as far as I can tell and there's some variety to it. My favorite part has to be the sections where the blocks glow a neon blue and all you see is your shadow running.
The music has a kind of techno theme to it, which in my opinion fits the game perfectly. You might get tired of the sound of your character doing his gravity shift, but that's the beauty of being able to turn off the music.
The controls are simple, which is good seeing what platform it's on. You're going to tap the screen to make him either run right side up or upside down, you won't have to worry about what direction he'll be running in, it's always going to be left to right.
Overall this is a fun game to pick up and get lost in when you have a spare moment. My one issue is that when you get to later sections of the game where tapping the screen is vital to clear sections, the controls don't seem as tight as they could be. There's been plenty of times where I've hit some of the speed pads and tap the screen and nothing has happened to the character. One nice thing though is the fact that there are checkpoints, so if you screw up a section you can just restart from the last checkpoint, and they are all fairly closely spaced together so you're not going to have to redo a long section to get back to where you might have messed up. I do wish that when you hit single player there was automatically a choice to start from the beginning instead of instantly loading to the last section, but that's probably just me.
If you're looking for a game that's simple and somehow quite addictive on the iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, I'm going to have to recommend that you take a look at this game. Once again if you want to know more about the flow of the game check the link up above to get a taste of what you could have on your apple device. This game gets an 8.2 out of 10.
